Our Purpose

St John of God Foundation and St John of God Health Care are not-for-profit organisations working together to improve health care in our community. Our commitment is to advancing discoveries in health care with a focus on human dignity and compassionate care.

The Foundation aligns support with healthcare areas that have the greatest connection for our donors and can demonstrate clear outcomes and impact for our patients and the WA community.

Primary Focus

The Foundation will fund projects that align to five key areas;

  1. Leading Medical and Health Research: Our commitment is to leading ground-breaking medical research, through our unique national research program, that has the potential to transform heath care in Australia and across the globe.
  2. Innovative Equipment & Technology: Revolutionising patient outcomes through access to the latest innovations and equipment. The equipment and technology we aim to support is not just about keeping up with the times; it's about redefining health care by staying at the forefront of innovation.
  3. Patient and Client Centred Care: Initiatives that provide direct patient benefit, amplifying the provision of compassionate care through the creation of specialist positions and financial support. Our commitment is to advanced personalised patient treatment, in areas of greatest need, to support patients and their families during their time of need.
  4. Caregiver Education & Training: Advancing knowledge by investing in our best and brightest minds, through caregiver scholarships and bursaries, so they can lead the way in delivering exceptional and compassionate patient care.
  5. Unmet Need (Social Outreach): Supporting services for vulnerable, materially poor and disadvantaged individuals and communities.

Before applying for funding, applicants should familiarise themselves with the St John of God Foundation Funding Application Guidelines available on CORA. Approval by Hospital or Services CEO

Applicants please note that your project requires the approval of the relevant WA Hospital or Services CEO before you submit the project for funding consideration to the Foundation.

Project Detail

Provide a name for your project/program/initiative. Your title should be short but descriptive

Briefly describe the problem using evidence or examples. Highlight why current solutions aren’t enough.
Please describe the demographic of the primary beneficiaries
Describe three things you want the project to achieve in terms of benefits for participants and/or others (200 words recommended)
Tell us why you think donors will want to support this project. Why is this not something that would be funded through normal operational means?
If your request is for equipment, please explain how you will cover servicing and on-costs after the initial funding is provided.
